Was bomb on plane a recce or just mischief?23.03.2010

BANGALORE: A day after a crude bomb was found on a Kingfisher flight from Bangalore to Thiruvananthapuram, the city police are trying to zero in on what went wrong. Was it plain mischief or a recce by a terrorist outfit?

Additional Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) M R Pujar said that both possibilities could not be ruled out until the identity of the bomb planter is established. It’s also proving for the police to say with some degree of certainty if the bomb was placed on the aircraft at Thiruvananthapuram or Bangalore.

The first three papers used to wrap the bomb were SSLC question papers of the Kerala state board. The next one was a page of the January 13, 2010 Thiruvananthapuram edition of a Malayalam daily, which led to the theory that the bomb was placed at Thiruvananthapuram.
